About the Owner

What happens when someone tells you that you can’t do something? If you’re anything like Cassandra Saunders, it makes you want to prove them wrong, and surpass their expectations. That is exactly what this 24 year-old has done. And, there is no end in sight for her.

As a newborn, Cassandra was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Naturally, as with other children with disabilities, no one was exactly sure what she was going to be capable of. Her Neurologist once said to her mother, “If we give children the best beginning and the best education, they will be whatever they can be in this world.” So, that’s what was done, and in 2000, at the age of 17, Cassandra was able to begin studying website development.

In 2003 she founded C Scale Designs. She was in College for website development when her mother asked her to design the website for her organization (Associated Advocacy Center - Visions for the Future, Inc.) Simultaneously, Cassandra’s professor gave the class an assignment to do a simulation website for a makeshift company.

Coming up with ideas for her website was difficult, so Cassandra asked her professor if she could use the Associated Advocacy Center website concept for the project, and alter the content. The idea was rejected because it would be a real website after the project was complete. When her professor looked at the first page of the website she said it went beyond the scope of the class. Cassandra knew she was on the right path. This gave her the vote of confidence she needed.

A few months later, she was given a job placement assessment to see what employable skills she had. Not surprisingly it said she had none at all. The agency that asked for the assessment suggested that she minimize her focus in College and learn things in different arenas. Cassandra was ready to make C Scale Designs what it is becoming; a recognizable name in all areas of website development.

In 2007, Cassandra became the Director of Website Development for the Associated Advocacy Center - Visions for the Future, Inc. The website was just re-launched with a new design, and it is her highest debuting website ever with over 12,000 visitors in just over a week.

Clearly she has been doing something right...
